External and built in mouse on laptop not working

So this has been going on for a while now. When I am at my mothers house I plug in the mouse to my laptop and it works for a while but then it makes the disconnect sound and the lights are still on on the mouse. Then it keeps on making disconnect and recconect sounds and sais cannot connect to device. I have reinstalled the drivers and mouse and everything no luck. The strangest part is that everywere else my mouse works just fine. The temperature is actually slightly warmer at the places I use it other then my mothers house so heat should be not a problem and it is on the same user using the same programs and on the same cooling pad. Any other questions please respond. Also I forgot after a while sometimes the mousepad on the laptop stops working a while after the external mouse stops working.

So I understand, you can use the mouse fine anywhere but your mom's place and it is the same mouse and laptop? How do you hold the laptop at your mom's, different than other places? Have you tried a different mouse?

It would be very helpful if you could describe what is different in the system environment at you mom's house from everywhere else. For instance: what does she use for connecting to the internet? Cable modem, FIOS DSL modem, with or without router? Printers? Are they wireless? What does she have for PC components?

Yours is a very strange problem my friend. It sounds like something at your mom's house is connecting on your laptop and there may be a driver conflict. Impossible to see from here.

I have not but I have tried the mouse that I use on my moms computer and it works fine (atleast for the 30 minutes I was testing it

Also there is almost no difference between the enviroment. Mabye a little more humid at my mothers house but nothing dramatic. Also the internet is much slower. I am not sure what type it is but I know my mother has clear wireless and then at other places generally I am using xfinity

I can't venture a guess at what is happening based on the information you have given so far.

Just a a thought is the mouse wired or wireless?? Am just wondering because the wireless ones normally work on a 2.4Ghz frequency and if you are working near say one of those cordless telephones, wifi modem , even a microwave nearby or anything that uses a wireless "connection" the mouse could be affected by those devices.

Having said that some cordless phones work on 5.8Ghz but it is more likely if this is the cause that the 2.4Ghz devices are responsible because of the sheer volume of frequency "traffic".

Next time to mom's house don't use your wireless mouse in any fashion. No mouse or dongle or anything. Just use your built in laptop pad.
See if things work as they should. Hopefully this will isolate the problem.
I'm thinking that ICit2lol is on the right track. Their is a outside signal effecting your external mouse and therefor effecting the system.

Its not a wireless mouse its a usb optical mouse. Also when I use it without the mouse the touchpad still eventually becomes messed up even wehn its not plugged in

Maybe it is the mouse software without going all the way back have you tried another one?

I'm out of ideas.
To me it's still a overheating problem or a outside signal coming from something in your mothers house or surrounding area.
