Hi this is Danny I found a external hard drive among my dads things and it is filled with his artwork and even some computer artwork that he had done and I have not found anything that says it's copyright protected.

Is there a way to password the external hard drive in windows 7 home premium. I am wondering how to protect the contents of this drive other then putting it in a safe as I don't have one. In case it's ever stolen I want to make it very hard for someone to get into that drive.

Depending on how many files you can zip or rar them with a password if it's thousands you can encrypt the drive the problem is years down the line is remembering passwords. You could upload them to Google drive of one drive they are safer there so they can't be lost or the drive get damaged
