External monitor problems

I have Win 7 64 pt. system. G/Card nvidia, Chip Type GE Force GT 530....
I connected an external TV via HDMI port, initially all worked fine until I had to reinstall Windows now my external monitor is recognised by my PC and also by the graphics card but it will not project the pc screen images to the external tv monitor,its a blank screen, and I have the correst HDMI port selected on the TV. Have tried everything but without success... Please advise ... would be very thankful...

Do you have onboard video? Try that route for now until you get into Windows and install necessary drivers or whatnot. Unless you did something in the BIOS that messed with it.

So to summarise you had your machine plugged into your TV and it was fine. You reinstalled Windows and now although the system detects the TV, all you get is a blank screen?

What is your current display resolution?

Reinstalled video drivers, Reset BIOB to default, Screen Reselution 1600 * 900

Try a much lower resolution, something like 800 x 600 (or check your TV's manual for compatible resolutions). I can't say that this will change anything but it will eliminate the resolution as the problem.

If it works at 800 (or compatible resolution) then you'll know it was just your display settings
