Hi friends
Long story short, my laptop internal speakers went bust years ago - since then I have been using external speakers without any issues. Had Logitech speakers in the past & now use HP's speakers.
Around 10 days ago, left side USB port stopped powering up the speaker - so I started using the right side port but since today morning, I can't seem to power it up on it either but once in a while when I try to shake the wire a bit, it powers up & goes off, as if its a loose connection. I have a total of 4 USB ports, 2 on the left - one next to the other & 2 on the right, one beneath the other. None of them work for my speaker.
I assumed may be USB ports got corrupted but when I tried inserting couple of my "Pen Drives", they were working perfectly fine for them - so the problem is only in powering up the speaker.
I am not sure what more I could do, this is an 10 yrs old laptop.
Just for additional info - in case it helps somehow:
I used to have a single fan cooling pad until 2-4 months ago, when I replaced it with a 2 fan cooling pad & my laptop is always connected via power through APC UPS, even though battery is still working.
