"Failed to configure updates, reverting" loop

What it says on the tin can.

Basically, my computer refused to update and it keeps trying to revert changes for quite a while.

Does anyone have a solution to this?
I prefer it if the solution was quick and easy

I will take any solution personally. this is an annoying problem effecting multiple machines only windows 7 but not all of them.
