Last week my PC stopped producing sound. Neither the speakers in my monitor nor the auxiliaries on my desk produce any sound.
All worked fine until last week. I have loaded to latest Realtek driver into my PC. I have tried various settings including Windows default setting. Everything is plugged in where it should be (and has been for a the past year).
But I get no sound. Any ideas?

John

Sounds to me like something may have "Corrupted" the drivers for the sound card. Try this and see what happens: go into the device manager section of the system folder in the control panel and look and find any and all audio devices listed. Make sure there are no x's or exclamation points by them which means something is not right. right click on all of them and choose uninstall. Once all of them are uninstalled; then reboot; and hopefully windows will reinstall the audio device(s) and reinstall the drivers for them. hopefully once that is done all will be good. But if there is still a issue post back and we can go from there.

Also have a pretty bad speaker setup which is a klipsch promedia 5.1 surround speaker setup with huge subwoofer and lg blu ray player/writer. Also a hp officejet pro 8600 plus wireless all in one and a logitech s7500 webcam.
Also, check the Sound Panel, Playback section. Your "Speakers" should be set as the default playback device.
