Fast to start, slow to login

I have a user account that takes a rather long time to log into. There is a large amount of data on the desktop.

Is that affecting it?

The system is windows 7 64-bit, all the startup options have been disabled and this is still happening. The only thing currently running that is not a Microsoft service is Avast!

Is it happening only to one specific account? Other accounts boots / log normally?
When logged to the user, open regedit and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
What programs load to that user?

Lots of data on desktop will do it or reconnection to slow network drives or resources
