Fatal1ty Creative headset mic not picking up sound

Just got the Creative Fatal1ty headset, and when i tried to talk to friends on skype they couldn't hear me. I tried disabling the internal mic and changing around in the skype settings, but nothing has worked. I have checked the mute on the mic and its off. I just don't know what to do. :C The mic is enabled in the sound menu, and it's set as standard unit for communication.

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Go to the Sound Panel, Recording section. RIGHT click on the microphone icon and then LEFT click Properties. One of the tabs should allow you to set the microphone level.
