Win 7 64 bit new build, Mic not picking up sound from any port or usb

I've got a new build and the mic doesn't pick up sound from either my audio port (front and back ports) headset; or my USB headset/mic. When I plug them in the recording audio setup shows both headsets plugged in when plugged in. But the little sound gauge next to the listed headset doesn't show any sound. I've tried reinstalling audio drivers and getting new ones.

Thanks,

Deneb

Do you have the correct BIOSAR provided drivers? The motherboard vendor's drivers are the preferred driver.

If you have the correct driver installed, what is the status as shown in the Device Manager? Does it have an error code (and what is it) or does it show as working OK?

Also in the SOUND | Recording tab, highlight the offending mic(s) and go into properties (bottom right) and see if you find anything suspicious there. 4 Tabs: General, Listen, Levels, Advanced

To get to that area, you can put Sound in the search box off the Start button then click Sound....

It shows my drivers are good and everything in the properties/settings sections looks good. I've got the Mic volume maxed and even have the boost going. But the little gauge that show's sound when i'm talking into it doesn't move.
