Here I am, again. I reinstalled every update one by one and the problems seems to be with KB 978637 which is not an important update. Anyone else has the same problem?:huh:

I'm not sure this will work but try downloading the file individually and then installing it.

Consider the following scenario:

• You have a computer that is running an x64-based edition of Windows 7 or of Windows Server 2008 R2.
• This computer has an application that specifies Windows 7 in the "Compatibility" section (<compatibility> element) of the application manifest file.
  
  Note For more information about the application manifest file, see the "More information" section.
• You start the application from a 32-bit process. For example, in a file download dialog box in Internet Explorer you select Run instead of Save. This action starts the application.

In this scenario, the application runs in a Windows Vista context instead of in a Windows 7 context. Additionally, you may receive an unnecessary Program Compatibility Assistant warning.

Note To view the operating system context of a running process, use Resource Monitor and locate the Operating System Context column.

This issue occurs for both 32-bit applications and for 64-bit applications.

Installed it individually and now seems ok. Maybe there were some programs running underground which causes some conflicts. Anyway, I'm on again. Thanks a lot to everybody helped me.

I just received the notice for those 6 updates, but only on one machine so far. Not only did I not check the WAT update, I hid it.

Downloaded the verification checked it on line against a thurrott;s regedit rearm verify and passed. Every thing I have is a legal upgrade, fresh install.

The activation update is listed, but not initially selected for installation. To install it you have to go into the list of updates and select it for installation.

i had to restart PC 4 times so windows 7 can work properly after those updates, everything i clicked with my mouse got selected as i had ctrl pressed all the time and 2 boot`ups freezed windows 1min after it loaded everything in windows.

5th restart seems to work ok...for now...anyway m$ sucks.

Can anyone else who installed all of the updates (including the Activation one) confirm the presence of a new service called WatAdminSvc.exe? After updating Windows with all of the available updates this morning, WinPatrol starting barking about WatAdminSvc.exe, but there's no plus info about it, and I can't find anything very reliable on google. I'm concerned that Windows Update might've been hijacked, seeing as we weren't expecting an out-of-band update release. :/
