Hi Folks,
When a new version of FF is released, I normally disable my Firewall as it tends to block access to certain items during the upgrade.
On this occasion, I forgot to do so. Now when I open a web page, (this one for example) the vertical scroll bar is visible till I scoll the page using the mouse wheel then it disappears.

I have tried to 'Reset' FF but it failed.

I used Revouninstaller to remove FF using moderate mode.
When FF was reinstalled ALL my settings were unchanged including bookmarks.

Profile backup

Suggest copying your Profiles and Profile.ini to another folder on your desktop but as there seems to be some sort of corruption I'd suggest mounting a restore point and retrieving those files from there:

Profile folder - Firefox - MozillaZine Knowledge Base

Mount a restore point and browse to your old profile and copy it to your desktop. Unmount the restore point.

System Restore Explorer | Nic's Blog

(Download link is hard to spot!)

Then clean install Firefox and replace the new profile with the old one.

Also suggest using this instead of Firefox:

https://8pecxstudios.com/ There's 32bit or 64bit versions along with Intel or AMD optimized versions.

Hi Callender, I don't use 'System Restore'. All my backups are done using Acronis. Having been very busy the last 3 months I don't have a recent backup.
Will try your other link / browser later.

Hi,
I'm not sure about Firefox but sometimes sites do that with the disappearing scroll bar,
It's possibly a feature of the site and if the browser picks up on the feature or not depends on if the browser is optimized for that browser or not,
Example would be ie10 does not have the disappearing scroll bar on this site but some sites it will,

John has always said this site will function better with Firefox so he does and so does Brink uses Firefox ;)

Hi, I don't use system restore either and keep it disabled! It seems that you could recover just your profile folder and profile.ini from your latest backup and copy those files into your clean install of Firefox.

I am having the same problem with FF Portable, it was updated with my FW disabled. This is explained with a possible cure at FF 32 Scroll Bar ? mozillaZine Forums

Setting as below seems to fix it.
