Fibre and RJ45 cables - a question

My house is connected to the internet via a copper phone cable. Download speed is around 3.5 megabytes\sec
I'm about to have fiber installed in my house.
Let's say the fiber will enter the house at point A. The Optical Network Terminal will be installed here.
But the computer is eight meters (26ft) away in another room; call it point B.
It's very difficult to run the the fiber cable the additional distance, between points A and B.
But there is an existing RJ45 cable that runs between points A and B.
Question: At what speed will the computer receive the faster fiber data via the RJ45 cable? Will the fiber speed be throttled by that cable?
Thanks.

Depends on the Ethernet cable and how it's wired up. Typically you'd see the ABILITY to pull 1 Gbps. So if your fiber connection from the ONT is at or below 1 Gbps it should be no problem. If only 2 pairs of wire are used in that Ethernet cable then you'll be limited to 100 Mbps. Using 4 pairs (8 individual wires) you'll get 1 Gbps.

Is it CAT 5e?

What is the speed your new ISP will give you?

I have fiber now and 1 Gbps Ethernet throughout the house and it works since I only pay for 350 Mbps up and down. That's 43.75 MBs per second (350/8). I don't need anything faster since most websites won't give you anything faster when you connect to them. 1 Gbps is good for the bandwidth and if you have a family of 5 or something and everyone is gaming and/or streaming 4K. I'm the only gamer in the house.

When you get your fiber installed, you can go to fast.com and speed.cloudflare.com and add both results then divide by 2 to get a pretty good idea what you have there. It all really depends on what website your connected to and what that website's infrastructure looks like.

It's not "RJ45 cables," it's Ethernet cable. RJ45 is the spec of the connector used. Here's what RJ11 looks like.

Mate, thanks for the info. I think the A-to-B cable I've mentioned is Cat5E, which, as you say, could be limited. However, it mightn't be too difficult to switch it for a Cat6 if the Cat5 proves to be restrictive. Cat6 is a lot quicker, isn't it?

Again, what speed will the fiber be that the ISP will give you? If it's not over 1 Gbps you're fine with CAT5e or above. Actually, you need enterprise grade hardware to support anything faster. At least with consumer grade hardware as of this post.

Sorry, forgot to add that the fibre speed will be 950 Mbps. There are slower and faster plans but that one'll be fine for me.
