My house is connected to the internet via a copper phone cable. Download speed is around 3.5 megabytes\sec
I'm about to have fiber installed in my house.
Let's say the fiber will enter the house at point A. The Optical Network Terminal will be installed here.
But the computer is eight meters (26ft) away in another room; call it point B.
It's very difficult to run the the fiber cable the additional distance, between points A and B.
But there is an existing RJ45 cable that runs between points A and B.
Question: At what speed will the computer receive the faster fiber data via the RJ45 cable? Will the fiber speed be throttled by that cable?
Thanks.
