Solved file analyzer and duplicate finder !

few years ago I had software which I used to manage all of my files ! it would visualize any file type so I could have an idea how much of my hard drive were used by each ! say 21% jpeg! it would also find the duplicates. now that I cannot remember the name of that software , also there might be new technologies and new software's. so please give me some advice about top file analyzers with duplicate finding option !

Space Sniffer

This one is my favorite: SpaceSniffer, find lost disk space the easy way.

It takes a bit of getting used to!

For something with tons of functionality there's: DiskSorter - File Classification - Downloads - Windows 64-Bit

(Freeware version choose 64bit) if you want to try it. The default filters are pretty decent.

17Gb of duplicate files? Holy crap! Are they all RW files or from different programs? If it's RW stuff, no, do not delete. If it's other files, run "CCleaner" CCleaner - Free Download - Piriform and get rid of the junk. 17Gb to me is a lot of junk.

I also run the CCleaner's Registry tool, but backup the Registry before you run that tool. I have never had a problem, but just in case. You can also do a "disk cleanup" of your hard drive. How to do that, depends on what version of Windows you have.
