I am getting the asus motherboard as I like the brand and I KNOW its a reliable board for the price. I know the psu isn't a amazing brand BUT all the reviews are good. I honestly don't care for a case but its better then using my old one and its a 5 star egg and comes with a fan. The RAM im going to install is supposed to be amazing for the price and is customer choice award. And the CPU im going with is a i3 2100 as that is all I need. I mean im upgrading from a pentium 4 should be wayyyy better :D
I also have seen MANY MANY youtube videos with the i3 in the board I picked.
$307 for pretty much a whole new computer? This is my first build so im going small :P I think its pretty good

Links:
Basic Case
530W PSU
8gb RAM
ASUS P8H61 Motherboard
Intel i3 2100 @ 3.1GHz
(I have a good DVD Drive)
(Will put in good GPU in about 2-4 months)
(I have hdd and will order windows)
Overall:
I am sticking with the ASUS motherboard and i3 processor (don't suggest another brand motherboard or cpu please I am settled :) )
Thank you seven forums!
Please tell me what you think and if its worth the upgrade from my current specs!

Hi

That is actually good system as you said that your first build. With optimum setting, you can do a lot of good work unless you are games addict.
Friendly advice here, pay attention to your Old HDD. You should set a plan for regular physical scan, backup, and ready to obtain a new one at any time :)

Congrats with the choice
Kevin

That little processor is much faster and more powerful than I would have guessed. I have one running my WHS 2011 box right now.
