Firefox 4.0 UI Redesign In-Content UI Visual Unification

Until FF/Mozila or mebby Adobe fixes the flash video skipping/jerking I am going to stick with Chrome.

1: I don't use Opera so No Comment
2: I did not know, but since the tabs are where it should be then it might just look awkward IMO
3: thats good to know
4: It just tries to look pretty wile failing to do so and prob will be less functional (for me)
5: with the new look persona suport will be an unknown for now, but the very least it is safe to assume the ones already out might not work with the new look

pretty sure it will be a more of a new standard theme or a changeable UI (for the next few builds i'm pretty sure there's gonna be either the Old theme or inside about:config there will might be a switch that will disable this and make the old UI the default...)
even if not people can download the source of the svn and rewrite the UI so that you can have 4.0 with the old UI...

personas is not really complicated (a header and footer image is pretty much it) and the personas in firefox 4 (if it even looks that way) should be able to adapt...

I personally don't like it, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I'll be sticking with firefox 3.6 as long as possible then unless you can enable a "classic" mode or something.

Am I the only person who dose not care for it? It looks to much like chrome If I wanted to use chrome I would be using it

So apparently "Tabs on Top = Chrome" to people. It does NOT look like Chrome. How one would think it looks like Chrome is beyond me but those persons must not have to great of eyesight.

my reasons for thinking it is to much like chrome and also not liking it are

1: tabs on top
2: no menu bar
3: Icons style
4: no bookmark toolbar

Well SF, this is why technology doesn't progress as fast as it could. To many people think things are fine as is without even giving newer version/ideas a try.

Something I have no problem with upgrades and improvements, but that dose not mean there should be change for change sake. I don't know how the new FF will look like under the hood, but what I seen with the Gooey is not something I care for as it has to much of a chrome look to it and I think chromes GUI is not as useful to me as FF is.

eg ;windows 7. many features that users like back in xp or vista is gone in 7.Does microsoft doing a survey asking what they want or what not?

yeah but you can get everything right?

for instance ,animated GIF cant be played with windows photo viewer. Yeah,3rd party app,irfanview or play using ie,ff browsers and later on i came across some article explaining the reason why GIF is not supported by windows photo viewer

Yes, but there are millions upon millions of users that use Windows. It is impossible to make everyone happy or hear every opinion/voice. Could they go Linux's route and make everything configurable? Sure but then you end up with configuration hell. You also have to test every option alone and in combination with other options this becomes an even bigger hell. Time is money, money is time both in limited supply.

There is also a need to simplify things, makes it easier to maintain, debug, and fix problems. But the first step to simplifying is removing features or options.

I like FF how it is :shock: thats why I keep using it. As a browser, i actually like Opera more, but Im used to FF's layout... I hope they will keep an option to use FF's old school layout

I personally prefer Firefox over all. Although I still have Chrome, Opera and even Safari installed. I switched to Chrome as my main browser for a few months as I needed something that would use less memory while I was on my XP machine. The layout threw me at first but I eventually got the hang of it. Although I'm back on Firefox now I still use chrome from time to time. The new design of Firefox looks kinda scary to me but change always is, but I guess we'll just have to wait and find out if they know what they're doing.
