Firefox loses Close and Minimize buttons

This problem just started recently.

Every time I open a site in Firefox, the Close and Minimize buttons are gone. (Firefox 35)

I can click F11 on and off, and they will reappear.

If I Minimize and Restore, the problem is back.

What's going on?

Are you running in "full-screen" mode, i.e. did you push the middle "square" button (between minimize and close)?

Something strange with FF running full-screen mode, I've also observed on a friend's machine. The Bookmarks Toolbar disappears when running full-screen, at least sometimes on this friend's machine (but not on all machines).

Clicking on the "double-squares" button (to return to "windowed" mode) brings back the Bookmarks Toolbar.

So just go to "windowed" mode, and drag the outer edges of the FF window to almost the edges of the screen. This will keep you in "windowed" mode, but will give you almost the entire screen size just about the same as "full-screen" mode. And your anomalies may disappear.

I've done all you suggested when the problem first arose.

Today, after booting, the problem seems to have corrected itself. (Maybe! LOL)

I really feel silly - I just happened to go to Options and saw that Full Screen was checked!

I would try to blame somebody else, if it wasn't for the fact that I live alone.

And my cat can't type!
