I have FF 17. The mouse is freezing in facebook & I find the only escape to release the browser is reboot. The same FB page works fine in internet explorer.

Try CTRL+Alt+DELETE or ALT+F4 to turn the Browser off ... I have no idea why this is happening. Might be a bug in FF 17. Was it there in FF 16?

Bought by Laptop on 24 December 2012, after making sure the world wasn't going to end.
Just opened Facebook after re-installing FF. This time the mouse moves but the page & the tabs are all non responsive. So this isn't a FF issue at present?? Maybe I better run a scan huh??

I've had similar problems using Facebook specifically in FF and what I've found is that they persist for a few hours to days and then usually go away. I suspect the issue has something to do with the way that Facebook is constantly updating its code. The newest DHTML is probably not always tested for browser compatibility as well as it should be. I would report the issues to Facebook so they know what they need to work on.
