Firefox uses too much CPU

Hello,
My default browser is Firefox, but most of the time it uses almost 80% and more of the CPU and memory, which slows down the system. I looked into the "Applications" and there are many, do not know how they came there. I would like to remove some if not all of them, but there is no option to remove / delete them.
Attached here a screenshot, (had to join some together as the list is longer then the window).
Any help will do.

Your system only has 2 gigs of ram so it doesn't take much to use that up.
I have just two websites open now and I'm using over 2 gigs of ram.

Show us some pictures like these using this tutorial.

Hi,
You'd need to review your browser add-ons not the applications area
Use Alt+TA probably to see the browser add-ons page and disable some of them.

As well as managing your startup programs/ utilities as suggested by LBB

I personally once you see what is loading with windows open the program.. and look at the settings options for the programs and Uncheck start with windows before unchecking them in msconfig

If no option to not start with windows exist then uncheck from startup as shown

Your security would be the only real program that should be starting with windows but do post an image first.
