First time building my own PC. (need help)

Im building my own PC, based off the Asus P5P43TD PRO Motherboard.

1. Where can I find a case for this board?

2. Is my checklist of hardware complete?

-Category - Brand + Model

-Power supply - Dynex DX-400WPS
-CPU - Intel E7500
-Heatsink - Included with CPU
-Memory - Memory Master 2GB PC3-10666 DDR3 DIMM
-Hard Drive - Seagate 3.5" Internal drive for Desktops
-CD/DVD - HP - 24x Internal Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW
-Graphics - ATi Radeon HD 4650
-Monitor - Acer 20" 1600x900 LCD

Pretty sure the sound, LAN, and 12 USB are intergrated.

So my ultimate question is... Is all that compatible with itself (will it work) and is there anything I am missing?

Sure it will work. You planning on installing Win7 32bit right?

Here is a link to a nice case with $20 rebate until 3/31.
They also have lots of other cases. You MB is ATX so that is the type of case. A mini or mid tower would work fine.

Dynex and Rocketfish power supplies are manufactured by Huntkey, and we were very curious to review these power supplies from Best Buy for two reasons.... Second, we had already reviewed a Huntkey power supply that couldn’t deliver its labeled power, so we were really interested in knowing if that was a problem with that particular model or if all Huntkey models are labeled with a power capacity higher than they can actually deliver.
Dynex 400 W is in fact a relabeled Green Star 400 W and since we had already reviewed the 450 W version from this series – which exploded when we tried to pull its labeled power – we were really curious to know if the all models from Green Star series explode or if this is a problem only with the 450 W model. We were also very curious to see what the internal differences between the 400 W and the 450 W models are.

It's an ATX motherboard, so look for an ATX case. (Not microATX.) It's by far the most common type.

It supports the E7500 CPU, with BIOS 0214 or later. (That looks like an old revision - the latest is 0502.)

The board has a single PATA controller (maximum of 2 devices). Are your HD and DVD drives SATA or PATA? (I'd hope for SATA.)

While you'd have to go out of your way to get one, the Radeon 4650 is available as either PCI-Express (the common sort) or AGP (rare). You can only use the PCI-E version.

As for the power supply, Dynex is a Best Buy house brand. You need one with a 24 pin ATX power connector (or a 20+4 pin), plus a 4 pin +12V connector for the CPU. It has both. I doubt that it's a bargain. If you haven't bought it already, you may want another choice. Perhaps an Antec case+PSU combination deal (like an Antec 300).

How about the mouse and keyboard? The P5P43TD PRO has a single PS/2 connector, so at least one of these must be USB.

The board includes onboard sound and LAN, as you thought.

And your E7500 supports the 64 bit instruction set, if you care.

Yes both my DVD and HDD are SATA (3GBps)

I already checked, and my local best buy has the PCI-E 4650 in stock

If my PSU isnt that good, then can you please reccommend one from best buy.

Finally, if the case i chose says it supports ATX and microATX will it work?

Plan on installing Windows 7 x64 HP.

That's a laptop/mobile processor, which from what I can see isn't compatible with that socket 775 motherboard. Need to find a desktop CPU.

how can it be a mobile proccessor when I thought u cant upgrade the proccessor of mobile computers. so why would they sell it at best buy?

A mobile processor is a processor for use in netbooks. It uses very little power and not much heat.

$580 doesn't seem too bad, particularly if you're dealing with Best Buy. (Sorry, but I think that a lot of their PC component prices are atrocious. Not all and not always, but I still prefer to do business with Newegg.)

You may want to price out an AMD based system. For example:

Asus M4A77TD (Socket AM3, DDR3, $85 [$10 rebate available]):

AMD Athlon II X4 630 (2.8 GHz, quad core, $100):

In this price range, AMD is more than competitive with Intel's offerings. (I'm using Intel at the moment, but I've had a couple of Athlon64 systems, that were better than Intel's offerings at the time.)

Yeah, if you want to go the Hackintosh route, you gotta stick with Intel. And it's usually not a bad choice as they have the edge in processing power and have since the release of the Core 2 Duo.

I screwed around a bit with setting up my box as a Hackintosh using the EFI-x module. In the end, I found that I really didn't like OSX all that much and have removed all of it. Some would say it was a waste of money (about $360 for the module and my copy of OSX), but I think it saved me from purchasing a MAC anytime soon. I did get a macbook pro for awhile at work to play with, but my experience with that wasn't all that much better either. Guess the whole MAC OSX thing is just not me.

I just needed a good hackintosh after trying it on my laptop, which is probobly the most imcompatible laptop for a hackintosh. Plus I wanted a more powerful Computer. I plan on keeping the accounts synced and mabye have a private TV session always open so I can connect to it at any time.

Well, best of luck to you. Some people really love it. For me, I considered the OSx86 project...but I wasn't interested in having to use hacked copies of the OSX installer. That's the reason that I went the EFI-x route....it allowed me to use a retail off the copy of the Leopard installer. I just don't trust hacked copies of the OS...since I fear that something nefarious could be installed without my knowing.

Well part of the reason im using the Universal one, was I helped with it a bit, so i know pretty much whats in it.

My simple philosophy is that if it can be updated through Apple Software Update, then its fine, because when you update OSX itself (from 10.6.1 to 10.6.2) it removes anything that OSX seems to be harmful to the OS. I tricked OSX into thinking it was 10.6.1 just to run the 10.6.2 update, and it worked.
