Fix for Win7 updates hanging and reverting at 15% and 30% // Nalpeiron

this is not a question, rather a fix! i spent 2 days trying to figure this out.. and thought i should post my fix. i updated two identical dell vostro vista business pcs to win7 ultimate... but updated fine, and most updates installed fine... but some where hanging.. esp the latest updtes, the rollup updates. i could not figure out why!!! it would always download, and tell me to restart, and when i did.. it would log off and shutdown after updates hit 15%.. then on startup... it would get to 15% and then say failure.. reverting.

my fix was

disable Nalpeiron Licensing Service
restart.. and try again! worked for me on both machines!! i found his solution buried away... one comment on regarding Nalpeiron.. and it worked.. just wanted to post for anyone else having a similar situation

I kind of got a little hopeful when I read this because what you described is the same thing that happens on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit desktop PC when I try to install the March rollup except it stops at 13% instead of 15%. But I don't see a Nalpeiron Licensing Service listed in either that PC or my other one with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it for some reason.
