Ok hi this is my first time here and I hope you guys can help me

so heres my problem

For about 3 to 4 months now I've been trying to get my music on my phone's external SD card. Throughout all that period I went through a bunch of problems with a bunch of devices but now I finally got a PC of my one and a working SD card

so heres my CURRENT problem :p

Now windows and windows media player dont seem to recognize flac files nor let me edit their tags/details so I downloaded a plugin and a program:

1. The plugin: it makes Windows capable of recognizing the flac files
It works. The WMP library recognizes the FLAC file songs that I try to get into the library

2. The program (mp3tag) acts like the files already have all the correct tags/details however when I put the files into the WMP library they don't get sorted into albums automatically, although they do appear there. Also, I still can't edit them within the windows "boxes" (take this picture for example Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet).

I fear that because of this I won't be able to have the files work on my phone (Moto G3 2015, Android Lollipop 5.1.1) on my music app (I use the PowerAmp music player app). I feel like the files aren't officially flac with official correct tags. What do I have to do to get that? The only thing I can think of is editing all the file details manually on the WMP library, however, not only would that take hours and hours of "work", but I also don't know if that affects the original files, that are supposed to go into my phone (which is the whole point of this). :geek:

Is there any other way to do this? A quicker way, maybe? And if I do it the long and boring way on the WMP library, will my original files also suffer from these modifications (which is what I want)?

I hope I was clear enough, thanks for the attention :D

You're lucky, I am searching for a solution to display the meta-tags of certain files not fully supported by Win 7 the whole day already and think I can help you.

Regarding FLACs only, read this thread.

If you need support for more formats, the only thing I found that could help are a) Install dbPoweramp b) Install this property handler.

While the 1st, the one for the FLACs is garantueed to be good though, I have no conclusive information on the 2nd property handler.

Hth.

Thanks dude

But I still have a doubt

i can make the flac files in the WMP library "editable" but what about the original files, in my folder for music? They seem to not be editable
those are the ones that have to go into my phone

With the linked property handlers, afaik you should be able to edit FLACs also in the Windows Explorer. If you try the 2nd one, don't forget to give feedback about how well it works :) .

Ok, so here's the SOLUTION for this problem.

Thanks to Seraiel and the thread he linked me "I" found this program that solves the problem: DepositFiles

Obs.: this FLACPH15.rar is SAFE in the sense that it will not change the files. It just allows you to see the properties (according to user on the thread). Also, no viruses, obviously.

If your problem is on Windows 10, check this thread, there seems to be some sort of solution (unconfirmed) on the last post: http://www.sevenforums.com/music-pictures-video/174276-windows-cant-read-flac-tags-4.html

Now, will this make the files work on my phone? I don't know, but I hope so

Thanks again, Seraiel, you saved me a lot of time and work!! :)
