This is driving me nuts!!!!!

Flash plays videos in youtube and seems to work for most other apps. But on some sites the video only shows black... the video will never start. (all browsers are affected) (I am using a 64 bit win 7 computer)

For example this site will not play and only shows black:
Armadebtdon 2011 - Call Congress - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - 07/26/11 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing flash, installing 64 bit flash player, have tried uninstalling chrome and re-installing and nothing has worked, have tried terminating my virus and firewall software too.

Try updating your Java Platform as a whole. You may also want to check the browser addons.

Nope, nothing. But sometimes the wheel spins for half a second then goes to black.

Ugh! No change after re-installing flash and Java.

Is there a specific install of Java, and is 64 bit flash required for a 64 bit os?

Chrome has a internal version of flash and self updates...So, wouldn't it not be affected by any problem affecting other browsers on my system?

That is so strange... You don't happen to have XP mode on the machine do you?
2nd idea: You can try moving the website into a lower security zone through security options / trusted sites.
