Force Install Drivers?

Does anyone know how I can force install AMD 11.6 Mobility drivers for an unsupported card? AMD's normal installers haven't been updated for my card (6750M) and as a result the installer just skips the driver install part. Can I just use the Windows driver installer and manually locate the driver files? Or is there some stuff that I have to fiddle with in the installer files? Thanks.

Going to be a long wait if this is the Macbook in your specs. Not likely to ever get the Windows driver even running in Bootcamp to install without adding the DevID for the mac version of the card to the INF, which you can do yourself. If you didn't delete it after attempting to install, you should have an AMD folder in C:\. If it is there go to,

C:\ATI\Support\11-6_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF

or similar depending on what it shows on yours. This is where the downloaded exe extracts the install files. Once there open then INF there (there is two of them in mine, and if two on yours open both) in Notepad. Next open Device manager and locate the video card; right click and select Properties and click on the Details tab. From the dropdown select hardware IDs and then go back to the INF(s). From there add or modify one of the lines under,

[ATI.Mfg.NTamd64.6.1]

This is a good one to change,

AMD Radeon HD 6750" = ati2mtag_Evergreen, PCI\VEN_xxxx&DEV_xxxx&SUBSYS_xxxxxxxx

replacing the xxxx with what it shows from Device Manager. Save the changes and then run the setup.exe in the main AMD folder. No promises but that should get the driver to install.
