forcing acceptance of old installation discs

I have a HP camera, only about 3 years old. I have the installation disc, but windows 7 doesn't recognize it. HP says "sorry, we don't support it anymore." Any way to install this program?

Try installing the program in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP, if it's just that it's not Windows compatible.

If that doesn't work, Windows 7 may have built in drivers for it. Connect it and see if Windows recognizes it and installs drivers for it. If that works you can use the free Google Picasa program to import pictures to the hard drive and even do some limited editing and printing.

In case none of the drivers work, the simple solution is to pry out the memory card from its slot in the digital camera, stick it into the sd card slot on your computer, navigate to the folders on the card, then just cut and paste the pictures/ videos to the hard drive.

Bill, I don't have a sd card slot on my computer, but I do have one on my printer. Can I go that route?

Yes you can use the card reader on your printer. That is the only one I have as well.
