Hello,

Thanks for the previous help.

I am trying to get a Keyspan/Triplite USB to Serial Converter going, like it did in the past.

Their setup program puts all the files in the correct place, and they all seem to be there.
Have downloaded their installation files both from their site, and also a CD installation disk that came with it. Neither works.

Error Msg always the same in that "no device found," and also "Drivers not loaded"

Running the 64 bit version of W7.

There is nothing in Device Manager that seems to show the unit.
Even with view "Hidden" enabled, there are no "Ports" or "Com" category heading
There are only the ones under USB Serial Bus Controllers, and nothing in this listing seems to show the unit.

The unit might be bad, of course, but I feel it is something in my PC that is not allowing the Drivers to be loaded or accessed correctly. Cables are fine, and have tried various PC USB Ports.

Any way of "forcing" the Drivers to be loaded ? (everything else on PC seems to work fine)
(I am not competent enough to play with anything in the BIOS, etc.)

Thanks,
B.

The device must be recognized by the system before drivers will load.

In Device Manager, a device that is recognized but does not have drivers to function will be shown as an Unknown Device. Sometimes a device will show up in Devices & Printers too.

How is this device connected to the system?
Duh - never mind. USB

Try different USB ports.

Also, sometimes with USB devices the drivers are installed before the device is connected. Do you have a manual or quick-start guide?
