Formatting second hard drive

I'm very sorry but my internet connection just dropped (unreliable ISP) so i had to post this with my smartphone. I'll try continuing the process tomorrow and post updates here. Thank you all so much for your help. -funk7997

EDIT: Okay I'm back online. I followed all the steps and I can confirm that partition 1 (the only partition) of my Windows 7 Hard Drive is active. I think the biggest problem is that it says BOOTMGR not detected. From what I've learned through Google, it means corruption of system files. I found this link http://cyberst0rm.blogspot.com/2007/04/how-to-fix-bootmgr-is-missing-in.html
Do you think it's credible?

No method I've tried so far will fix my problem. I've decided to just format both drives and reinstall Windows 7 on one of them. Thanks for trying to help me anyway. Hopefully this will work.

I finally brought this to a computer shop and they charged me twenty bucks for telling me that the hard drives were fine. So I took it back and decided that it was too old to deal with anyway.

It's a shame we never got the requested Disk Management screenshot or confirmation that Win7 partition had been marked Active with Startup REpair run 3 separate times. We could have helped you fix this as we have countless others over the years.

When you kept reporting back that you were receiving BootManager Is Missing error, I kept asking you if you'd marked Win7 partition Active and run 3 startup repairs with the XP HD unplugged. You'd never clarify if you'd done this. Why ignore repeated requests and then take it to a shop? This is one of the easiest things we help to fix here.

If you don't want to do the work to repair it correctly, then don't just write off a perfectly good machine. Unplug one HD, wipe the other to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Since you apparently didn't read these before, I'll put them here one last time so you can see exactly what was needed to get Win7 started:

1) unplug all other HD's.

2) Boot Win7 DVD or System Repair Disk to Mark Win7 Partition Active.

3) then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times. Yes, that says 3 separate times - not to run it once and ask back if you should run it two more times, then just ignore the reply.

I fixed it. After I used Fedora 17 on it for a while, I tried reinstalling Windows 7 and it worked! However, the second hard drive shows up in device manager and disk management, but it doesn't show up in Windows Explorer. Any help with this? -funk7997

Post a screenshot of Disk Management. Maximize the Window and adjust columns/panes to show max info. It's likely that all you have to do is right click on the second drive and select the action that needs to be taken (partition, assign drive letter, etc.).
