Pardon ahead of time on the topic thread folks - I realize this is not a server forum site but there sure are really talented folks here and I was not too sure how to ask.
My question is what are some great MS 2008 Server forums sites to visit? I realize the manufactures sites are great but I really want to get other forum insight too.
My company wants to have a Hot Spare 2K8 Server setup. Current server is on 2K3-SP2 and will migrate it over to 2K8 when we go live on the new server install.
We have an older Dell (8 years old) file server and recently purchased a new file server. They want both servers to be live and load balanced with auto-switching. Thing is, they are different types of servers and quite a bit different in construction.
Thought about Distributed File System, DFS, but that requires an additional server acting as a Domain Controller (the host) with the two file servers acting as clients. All servers have to have Active Directory (which we cant do) and both clients need to be configured with duplicate hardware (according to MS TechNet KB's).
Any-howz, I couldn't think of any place better then here to ask for advice about a trust-able site location for info about servers than this forum. Hopefully someone can shed some light on a path I can travel down to get the answers or ask the questions that I need to ask.
