Free firewall, have firewallcontroll

Installed windows7firewallcontroll but it looks like it's asking me to purchase it now, after one afternoon.
What do poeple use or recomend? I need something to stop certain programms connecting to the internet.
Also the stupid noise it makes annoys the eff out of me!

Only one i could really recommend - Comodo internet security

Best firewall available - plus decent AV and the Defence plus (UAC on steroids)

Others are available of course - but this one works and is totally free

Comodo probably won't affect every computer like it did mine, but beware of it. In another post there was an issue with the Comodo firewall driver negatively affects transport-layer communication in Windows 7. This happened to me and one other user, but like I said, it probably won't affect everyone.

If you know how to properly configure it's rules and policies:

Comodo.

It's default settings will simply drive you mad.

If not, go with PC Tools' Firewall Plus or Online Armor Personal Firewall (32-bits only).

Both were tied for 2nd place (behind Comodo) in Matousec's latest test.
