How effective is this Brian??? i also want to know if i'm using CustoPack Tool do i still need to patch system files in System32???

its ok i have tried it and uninstalled it with no problems the softpedia review sums it up they where right about it

* The Good

It lets you build your own package to replace the default Windows look and it also provides a set of choices to select from, most of which compatible with Windows 7 and some designed for XP and Vista.

The currently applied pack can be loaded in the editor and adjusted to fit the user’s needs. The changes cover every aspect of Windows interface, from looks (background image, logoff screen, folders, fonts, etc.) to sounds.

The Bad

We waited quite a while for the editor to load the currently installed theme. The lack of the “Home” button makes navigation back to the main menu a bit uncomfortable. Also, we could not find a way to replace the Start orb.

The Truth

Despite the minor issues CustoPack is the perfect solution for replacing the one-year old Windows 7 looks with new graphic elements and even sound packs. The customization packages in the gallery affect both the look and feel of the environment and can be modified for an even more impressive appearance.*

It's just a measure to ensure that newly created packs are shared with the community, I guess.
Nobody prevents you to switch altered dlls the "old fashion way" tho.
After all, that's where all the premade packs come from you can download on that webpage.

Just think of it as some kind of reinforcement of the community idea

A slightly different approach is SlySoft's Virtual Clone Drive that creates one or more persistent virtual drives that will mount ISO files. I've had no issues running it on 64-bit Windows 7.

It is possible it started out FREE and then turned PAID. The original Thread started in Sept. 2008.

hi i use display fusion i paid for the pro and have never regretted it have had no problems running alongside windows 7 many functions for your money best for multi monitors in my opinion, if you ask santa this year maybe he would get you a licence

Sorry for the late reply. I just tested ISODisk again, and it created a ISO file from a Windows 7 DVD without a problem on my 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 RC.
