This one-trick pony does what it was designed to do and does it well under Windows 7. It restores your icons to their last saved position should an app or game pull a fast one on you. There are other utilities which do the same thing, but if this is all you want look no further.

i would like to report that Daemon Tools 4.30.4 no longer works with my new build 7600.

i upgraded from build 7232, and the compatability wizard warned me that this software wouldn't work after the upgrade, and it was right!

i am happy to report that ultraISO still works and is able to mount virtual drives.

thank you very much Brink for this most valuable resource - we appreciate the time and effort you put into maintaining this thread.

Virus total will scan any file you send to it, on the web, with over 30 antivirus/maware scanners, with the latest definitions, and give you the reports. It is one of the best things on the web. If you ever have a suspicious file, and not sure if your AV is picking it up, send it there.

i would like to modify this post to say that daemon tools will work in build 7600 if you use regedit to delete Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\sptd before installing.

PlayTime

If you can remember using the default playlist editor in Winamp just because it gave a total playtime of all files, then PlayTime may be a good utility to have. Drag & drop a folder or group of files and it totals the play times for you. It works on W7 build 7077 and Vista64 so I assume it works on whatever supports AutoHotKey, since it's a compiled autohotkey script.
