Hy!

I have a strange problem with Freelancer:
while playing the upper half of the screen flashes black, espacially when graphics card us used more.
Things I already tried:
- graphics card driver update
- motherboard driver update
- BIOS update
- DirectX End-User Runtime
- reinstalling Freelancer
- running in every kind of compatibility modes
- playing on minimum graphics
But nothing helped... :(
On my profile my computer is described perfectly I think.
If someone would say my graphics card is a crap, I can only say that Hellgate London for example runs on medium graphics perfectly, so a 7 years old game shouldn't have any problems...
I hope someone will can help...
Thanks in advance!

Hell gate london is older. This is very shit. Its not even a graphics card, its an IGP. Is this a laptop or desktop? If its a laptop its probably getting too hot.

I'm sorry, but Freelancer was released in 2003, and Hellgate London in 2007... Wikipedia...
I don't think it would be overheating, because as I said before Hellgate London, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or TES4 Oblivion has no such problems.
The temperature of the system never goes over 75°C...
It's a laptop. Acer Aspire 5715Z

Thats very hot man. I suggest a laptop cooler. No more than 30 bucks. Basically its a joint heat and it WILL cause the graphics to freeze up, lag, even BSOD. My netbook, I was playing psychonauts on it. Old game, ported from xbox to pc. Worked amazingly smooth for a netbook. When it would get too hot it would freeze up, lag, and BSOD sometimes. Letting it cool did the trick. If this is online play its probably the wireless connection, otherwise 75c is pretty damn hot.

75°C is the top temperature.
While playing Freelancer it's about 55°C, what is not too much. I read the manufacturers website that over 100°C is dangerous, below 80°C is no problem.
For example Hellgate London heats the CPU at about 65°C and no graphics errors are appearing.
But I think I'll buy a cooler.
On another forum people said this could be a compatiblity problem, because of IntelGMA.
Any suggestions what to do?
Once again: this can't be an overheating problem.
(now my CPU is on 44°C, while running Win7 aero and Chrome)
