Hi ,
I have been getting a FREQUENT NOT RESPONDING ERROR resulting in a freeze which can last 30 seconds to a minute. It happens mostly in windows but also on the net occasionally.

My net speed is slow , even though when I test it, it usually displays a speed of about 20 or more -- MY cable speed that I pay for is 12 G.

I am on w7 and my comp is 6g memory with a HD of 750 g with 300g free space.

I have done all the necessary to make sure that nothing starts that should not start up--

A friend told me that I should download a REGISTRY CLEANER--

I sure would appreciate any advice -- If A registry cleaner is the way to go , could you recommend any. Or could there be any other potential solution ?

Your help is greatly appreciated--- Thanks , Ralph

Absolutely NO to the Registry Cleaner which offers nothing except to ruin your OS.

The problems with HP is that they have the worst load of factory bloatware in the industry. Work through these steps to Clean Up Factory Bloatware which should help relieve the situation if it is OS-related.

Many tech enthusiasts prefer a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to get the leanest possible install.

If these options don't help then I would test my hardware and work through these other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 - Windows 7 Forums
