Hi,
Just installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 64-bit SP1 on my Acer Aspire 6920 laptop by removing all partitions on the hard drive via the windows install disc and hitting next and letting it go from there. Once completed I logged in and both the WiFi and the 10/100 ethernet LAN works fine for internet...hence I'm posting here. I can also access everything else on my home network like TVs, other computers, etc. So I then activated Windows. Then I went to windows update and went to bed. Woke up the next morning and it was still just sitting there...the green bar just scrolling left to right without doing anything.

I've run the SURT tool and it's been going for 3 hours doing the same thing. Just scrolling.

10 minutes ago I ran sfc /scannow and it came back 100% complete with no errors.

I don't have any windows update errors as nothing has ever happened.

I've attached the CBS zip file.

Please help...and thanks.

Ben

'Forever' is a long time! ;)
Just in case...
Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
