Hello, Last month I built my own computer. I am having a problem with my Front I/O audio jacks.

- Headset is Beats by Dr. Dre Solo HD

- I have went into BIOS and enabled my Front I/O

- My front I/O is properly connected to my Motherboard

- My driver is Realtek HD R267 (Newest driver)

I have looked up this problem for quite some time but can't find a way to fix it. People have said to go into Realtek Audio HD Manager and click on the folder next to analog and untick disable front detection. I don't have this folder.

Any help is appreciated i'm 16, this is my first computer build myself. If you need anymore details just ask me below.

Thank you.

Have you tried a different headset?

Use the RealTek driver from the motherboard vendor, if you are not using this. Sometimes there can be problems if a driver, eventhough in this case it's RealTek, is not from the PC or motherboard vendor it may not work correctly.

But, considering it's a new build, and if it never worked, it could be the ports on the case, the wiring from the front panel to the front panel headphone connection on the motherboard, incorrect connection (I know you said it's connected properly but double or triplecheck) or even a hardware problem on the new motherboard.

I built a new PC and I had problems with the front panel USB ports on the new case. It turned out the front panel USB port assembly was defective (the case vendor sent me a new one).

One thought, there are two different front panel audio connections on many cases. AC97 and HDAudio. Make sure you are using the HD Audio connector.

Verify the front panel jacks actually work. This will take some electronic skills and an ohmmeter to check them. Check the continuity of the wires from the motherboard connector back to the front panel jacks. When I built my own system the front panel USB ports did not work, turned out the front panel jack assembly on the new case was defective. I contacted the case company and they sent a new front panel assembly and that fixed it.

Reverted back to manufacturers drivers and fiddled with some settings and managed to finally get the ports to work! :D Thanks everyone for the help.

That was one of my first suggestions, use the motherboard vendor's sound driver. Fixes many audio problems.
