Hi all,

As the title says, my question is regarding the use of a combination of the G3258 Intel Pentium processor with Intel HD Graphics and a Z87 motherboard.

The problem is that I can't get it to work. An HDMI cable is used between the computer and the monitor when using Intel HD Graphics. I've tried different HDMI cables to no avail.

Naturally, I've double and triple checked that the internal graphics is enabled in the UEFI. I've tried disabling the graphics card in UEFI hoping to force it to use the processor's graphics capability (Intel HD Graphics) but it won't work like that.

It doesn't turn off and I guess that's a good thing since if neither graphics option would work, I couldn't see to get back in the UEFI to turn it back on.

When the DVI cable is hooked to my video card, it works fine. When I disconnect it and connect the HDMI cable and reboot, there's no video, just a blank screen.

Is it possible that the combination of the processor with graphics and the motherboard I have just won't work together?

I have Windows 7 x64 SP1 with all updates, an EVGA GTX 650 video card, and an EVGA Z87 FTW mobo with Intel G3258 Pentium 3.2GHz CPU which includes Intel HD Graphics.

Thanks for any assistance.

EDIT: @GokAy - Thank you for the tip to reset CMOS in case all video was lost. I guess I was overly tired when I made the post here because I should have thought of a simple thing like that. In fact, the Z87 motherboard has a button on the back of the case to press when resetting the CMOS. Extremely easy to do so.

Just a note on my CPU cooler. I currently have the new Cooler Master Hyper D92 (quite similar to the ever-popular Hyper 212 EVO except it has 2 fans and they are offset).
Believe it or not, my temps with a moderate OC (stock 3.2GHz to 4.2Ghz @1.215V (31% increase)) are 3C-5C LESS than the Corsair Hydro Series H90 water cooler I replaced, idle and 100% load.
Try changing preferred/primary GPU or such setting in BIOS. If you somehow make any mistakes and left unable to get a display you can reset CMOS (check motherboard manual).
