Game crashes, freezez ect

I need a live virus scan that will be uptodate and protect my computer all the time so.. Been keylogged 3times in one week b4 i got this computer so :s Its my last chance now when I get a authenticator token for my wow account.

But is there anyway to stop this atdmt cookie file from getting into my computer ?

Thanks for helping :)

Yes there is.

Open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts in notepad. First, you might have to take off read only on it. Add these following lines at the bottom:

127.0.0.1 atdmt.com
127.0.0.1 atdmt.org
127.0.0.1 atdmt.net

If you really are getting issues with a keylogger, I'd look at my router to see it doesn't have unnecessary open ports.

To troubleshoot your existing issue, install Microsoft Security Essentials from Microsoft after uninstalling Panda.

Thanks alot, the issue with my fps game cs flew away now so yeh.. New virusprogram for me ! :) Just did what you wrote up there, added thoes right under some other ips and web urls.

Thank alot for this, and yeh.. I've had problems with keyloggers. I got a brother downloading stuff from safeplaces.. But he opens ports for his torrents download program. Could that be in any risk ?

Thanks again :)

You're welcome. Yes, opening ports for torrents could be a risk but not as much as the torrents he's downloading, themselves. Have him scan all new torrents downloaded with Malwarebytes.

You can close the ports on the router and it will still download fairly well. Maybe not as great but should still hit top speeds easily on popular torrents.

Aight, good to finally have something against these suckers :)
Just downloaded this MSE for myself now. Running a quick scan, doubt it I have any. But anyway good to have something protecting you.

Thank you so much, and I hope this is solved now.

First time I looking forward to log on WoW and not fear that a keyloggers is copy my strokes :p

Could be because the Windows version you installed is not from Microsoft and hacked, if you didn't get it straight from them or using the official DVD. If this is the case, it could be the source of malware and root-kit on the machine.

It could also be from any new antivirus you installed. Or from any 3rd party software that installed an extension. Or plugins.

Okay thanks.
Well I got a real version of Windows 7 so its not that.
The new antivirus is MSE as your recommended.

Havent had it in awhile now.. So yeh, might just be some random issue dunno ;P

You can see under the event veiwer, all those 3 where same.

So I've been looking into my eventviewer and found these two errors
kinda alot. The one to the left really alot.
Im gonna post some other errors I have in another post since they haven occure so much.

Thx again for reading :)

Hi j0ran and welcome

the event ID 1000, source 100 is usually a DEP error. DEP, or data execution, prevention is used to prpevent an app (or virus) from launching in protected memory space.

You need to look in control panel>system control panel>advanced>preformance>DEP. use the built in snipping tool to mak a screen shot of it and upload it to us usint the attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip) in the reply form. See Pics

Ken J+

Btw should I turn on DEP ? For all applications ?
As he did show in the picture, since you can see on my post that its "only for essential windows programs"

If you'd like, go to Windows uninstall or change a program screen and post screenshots of that using the paperclip while typing a post. We may be able to pick out the software you installed that is causing this.

To get there, click the button at the top where your hard drives are shown.

I don't know about that Ventrilo client, so that's a possibility.

I would also uninstall Adobe Acrobat as that's a really old version. Install their latest Adobe Reader 9.x or install FoxIt Reader as an alternative, instead.

See if these things help.

Make sure Winrar is updated to latest, too.

Open an elevated command prompt, type the following then hit enter:

sfc /scannow

hmm..

Well, yeah that adobe reader has been couseing some problems by not working at all while trying to load online manuals.. So might be kinda right there.

The computer has been really nice it happend so lets see how it goes :)

Anyway about that DEP thing I posted, would it be better for me to get "all programs and services" or would that just couse more problems ?

Thanks

That would probably cause problems for incompatible software from authors that didn't take this into consideration. Their software could be accessing all different ram locations causing problems with that turned on. The default settings should be fine.

Your +12V line is below spec, too low at 9.xx should be no lower than 11.4 so that's one issue. Be sure MS Security Essentials is updated. Download AdAware and Spybot but do not install them. Boot into Safe Mode (F8) NO network connection. Install and run AdAware and Spybot and zap anything they find. I run them both once a week. Then boot up normally. Consider a better PSU, running at 9.xx volts will be a constant problem leading to instability.

Could it raise the volt If I cut out the 12inch fan that is in the cabinet ?
Since I dont think that would hurt to much for the heat.

Well, the Spybot required connection to the internett. And the AdAware said something about my Microsoft Viruel C++ update, that I should run it manually.
So it didnt work at all ;s I might have some wrong versions, or there is something im missing out on.

j0ran old buddy, it's time to punt "reinstall the Op system" . I personally would never run a system once it's been infected by spyware, I don't trust any program to get rid of them all period. Key loggers are the untimate bad infection and that image should never be trusted again. I have my rules and they work for me.

I also wouldn't bother installing any virus protection for the time being as they are only causing problems for everyone at this point, especially AVG and Norton. Just be more careful about what you download and from where until a reliable anti virus solution is available for Windows 7. Spybot and adaware is ok but don't work too well against key loggers obviously enough.

Well, the thing is that I've already gotten a new computer with this whole new setup :) Windows 7 64bit with some old parts.. That would say its been 4days ago since I installed it. I havent had keyloggers after I got windows 7 the last one was a false alert. But I have had spyware as in adtmt cookie.. But as you see in this thread I've gotten ways to misslead them aswell.

Im just been safe then sorry atm. But anyway the last call about me having problems with keylogger was a false alert. So yeh, paranoia strikes again after getting hacked so many times on my old computer :)

Anyway thank for the advice. And yeh, I've found out that virusprograms kinda like a false safety in some occasions.

If you're really feeling like that, this will lighten your mind by a million times.

First, uninstall all antivirus and firewalls you have. Disable Windows Firewall and Windows Defender in services. Use services.msc from the start menu search box, hit enter.

Then install this:

https://www.zonealarm.com/security/...0day-1user&betaCode=ZAESFDE-BETA-60day-1user#

It will take you a little bit to learn the software but it is really not that difficult. It has integrated Kaspersky antimalware. The firewall can be set exactly as you want for every program .exe. If you need advice on any settings, please let us know. It is an excellent software amongst the best.

While setting it up, place your network adapter in the internet zone. Not trusted zone. Then assign other local machines on your lan to the trusted zone by going to firewall | zones. This is good security.
