Gamecom 777 5.1 headset no longer 5.1

I have the plantronics 5.1 surround sound headset. On windows XP i could set it ot 5.1 surround sound and it would play all the 5.1 tracks i had. Also games would use 5.1 surround.

But on 7 it only detects my usb audio device, and it detects it as stereo. the only options i have for surround are virtual surround. is there any way to make it set to 5.1?

I found this solution when I was desperate and started to test drivers of similar products

1- Download this (driver) (same chipset dolby) Gaming Audio Series

2)Unzip the download and force this this driver HS1 Setup\USB112-100820-8.2147(W7-FR)\SoftwareDriver\Driver

3)Select 7.1
