Hi ken9122,

With Gamescom wrapped up it is time to look forward to the Shattered Horizon closed beta. Over the next few days we will be choosing the first 2,000 gamers who will be invited to take part.

If you are selected you will hear from us again by the end of the week. If not, there is still a possibility of being invited in at a later date.

We want to thank everyone who signed up for the beta. We hope that even if you are not selected you will continue to follow our updates as we prepare for the launch of Shattered Horizon later this year.

being that they already sent me that last one say i didnt get in. maybe it was referring to the 1st beta *shrugs*

I've been a big E\/E fan for many years, it's depth and complexity are unrivaled. When I saw the Shattered Horizon beta, I signed up immediately. I recently installed the beta and was pretty disappointed. It's visually impressive but pretty lame.

EVE is AMAZING. I LOVE IT.

But I agree, the beta has not impressed me either.

If discussing a closed beta that was handed out on invites over the internet has a "non" word of mouth expectation than the company is crazy.

People will talk about it and they can't say much about it

A true closed beta would be folks they pay in house...

Yep. Been in enough beta's and signed/agreed to enough NDA's. They may not come after you, but if you discuss what you're not supposed to (or worse start posting screen shots) they can and usually will remove you from the beta.

Also a reminder for any that are new to this sort of thing; while it may be nice a feel like you are getting to play the game, don't forget the main purpose is to put it through its paces and report back and bugs/etc. I assume they have set up a password protecte forum for beta testers to report in.

They do indeed.

Unfortunately for me, the game runs like CRAP on my rig. I don't think it is quite good enough for it....

Plus, I am too busy being addicted to EVE to take time off that.
