Games for this Laptop

Counter strike: source. You might be able to run Alliance of valiant arms. If you can run stuff with UT 3 engine you can run that.

I have a very similar laptop, except I have an i5: Toshiba Satellite A505-S6017 Laptop

I can tell you right now that just about all Source-engine based games will run maxed out. I'm running Half-Life 2 with everything on high, full AA and MSAA and HDR. If it'll take MW2, it'll take most recent games.

Not surprising. Source games are heavier on the cpu than gpu. But they still kick ass. I would be no where without my counter strike. Now if only I didn't have bad aim. ._.

Expecting good graphics on an intel graphics processor is like expecting a 3 year old to know perfect manners. Its not going to happen for anything. Try Alliance of valiant arms. It looks great and it may be the best you can do.

You'd be surprised what the new Intel GMA HD can do. I told you, I'm playing Half-Life 2 maxed out on it, and the GPU on an i5 is part of the CPU (430M). It actually supports Blu-ray playback. Anyways, Counter-Strike isn't all graphics, it's the gameplay. And every online FPS has hackers, or at least the popular ones. Open Arena is good, Tremulous is awesome, Cube (all free).

I just told you, valve games are not gfx heavy. Its all heavier on cpu. I was even able to play counter strike source on a netbook with an old 945GM. Thats a discontinued processor they decided to continue by throwing it into netbooks. Yea sure, a netbook is not for gaming, but I still did it. Valve games will run no issue but he's crying about the graphics. Not sure about the others. I personally can live my life on TF2 and CSS.

I'm well aware they're more CPU-intensive than graphics-intensive. I spent some time coding. I've ran the thing on a much lower-than-minimal-specs rig and it ran fine. Anyways, my point is that the new integrated graphics chipsets are more powerful than what you're using. MUCH more powerful.

PS: I'm a HUGE Valve fan and have played all of the original Half-Life games (Original, Blue Shift, Opposing Force) as well as Half-Life 2, and all the other Source games.

High five man. I love valve too. They can make higher power stuff, we all seen L4D. But I love the messed up shaped maps of CS:S. I just don't understand why he is crying about graphics.

Everyone has their own preferences. With the laptop he's got, there's got to be a balance. If he's got MW2 running on there, it's definitely on medium-low, especially with a Core 2 Duo which is noticeably less powerful than an i5.
