Hi and thanks for your time :D

Anyway, first thing is first:

Windows 7 is . . .
- Professional 64Bit
- Started as Win7 Home 64Bit, the later upgraded to Win7 Professional with Windows Anytime.
- Full Retail, both.
- The system in question: Brand new laptop, 2 days old.
- Clean install (now on my 4th clean install on 2 days).

The Issue:
So two days ago I got a new laptop through the door and after installing Windows 7 on it, updating etc. I installed all of the drivers as usually.

Now here's the problem: Whenever I try to enter a game or 3D application, the computer freezes and goes black (yet lit) screen. Sometimes the black screen turns to a BSOD after a while, other times it just keeps being frozen.

BSOD Screen:
Screenshot of the BSOD (I also included the jcgriff dump as an attachment).

This error also occours when I'm going to the 3D-tab in the ATI Catalyst software.
Furthermore, when playing e.g. youtube videos my screen will be filled with green flickering and weird graphic glitches (no crash though).

One fun fact: I can still successfully play 'Shattered Horizon' without a problem. All other games and applications seem to crash.

I have tried formatting completely and starting over a few times, but to no avail.

Laptop Speccs:
The laptop in question is a HP Envy 17-1190eo.

The speccs are exactly as in the link above, except I replaced the HDD with a Crucial SSD. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, up to date. All drivers were downloaded from the HP homepage (except for the gfx driver. I downloaded that from ATI's homepage).

When starting up the laptop after a crash, my screen will usually have graphic noise for a few seconds and then correct itself. Example here.

I hope I didn't forget to add some info, but I will add more if needed. Any help will be greatly appreciated! I hope you guys can help me figure out what's wrong ... :(

Thanks,
vanular

Nothing? :(

Anyone have any idea what it could be? Driver-related or perhaps faulty hardware?

Seems like it was not caused by software but rather a fault in the hardware
I suggest RMA'ing the laptop

This confirms the hardware fault

Alright,

thank for the reply :)

I suppose I'll send it back this weekend. Too bad.
