IMO, gamer cases with clear sides (and those with led fans) are gaudy and look tacky after a while, and require too much little getting all your cabling nice and neat. LED lights get distracting, especially if this in going in a bedroom where you sleep or living room.

Antec makes some very nice and quiet cases that look profesisonal. The P182 and P183 are especially nice, though a bit pricey. Completely worth it. Don't go cheap with a $50 case.

http://www.newegg.com/Store/BrandSubCategory.aspx?Brand=1516&SubCategory=7&name=Antec-Computer-Cases

And avoid PSU/case bundles. The PSUs are almost all worthless.

That is also a great case, but is microATX, so you have to be careful picking a motherboard and graphic cards that will fit.

=\ well I picked a micro atx motherboard so I have no problems, and does a ATI Radeon 4850 fit in a micro atx?

I have no clue. The main concern is simply length of the card, so you can probably look at the reviews on the case to find somebody who names their specific make and model and their card and find the length of it and compare to the specific 4850 you purchase.

In my ATX case, my 4850 is almost touching one of my hard drives, but again, it depends on the exact case.

Okay =P the 4850 isn't that long so shouldn't be much of an issue.

I would just go with a full tower, and pick any MoBo you want. Invest more money in the motherboard than the case, as the motherboard is more important. I just made a thread with the stuff I want in my computer, and I went with a full-size case and a standard ATX motherboard so that way I don't have to worry about wrether or not the my graphics card fits.

Also, if you're overclocking, it is a good idea to go with a bigger case so more air can circulate (unless your going with liquid cooling).

Bleh don't plan to over clock, plus I like the case design =\ none other exactly like it, otherwise I'd get a Full Tower

... or alternatively still look damn good after a while ;)

It depends on the LED colour too. At one stage I had some green LED fans in my case and the amount of light coming from it got old fast. Same as my Sunbeam fan controller which has ridiculously bright blue LED knobs.

However, now all my case fans are red and the controller is covered. The red LEDS aren't annoying and look quite good.

Don't go cheap with a $50 case.

And avoid PSU/case bundles. The PSUs are almost all worthless.

+1

The cm-sniper is a good case and has air filters and a built in fan controller which is good for noise issues.

For sheer airflow though, the Antec 1200 and HAF 932 are worth looking at.

firstly thanks all for the opinions. i was wanting to go for a mid tower or an ultra -mid but dont really want to go with a full tower cause the things are huge.the 1200 does look like a really good case but its a bit on the pricey side and as for the haf932 again a really good case and pretty ok pricewise but im sure it doesnt have dust filters which could be a huge pain.

Yep. It's a dust vacuum. It's the one and only thing I don't like about this case, but I was prepared for it when I bought it.

Everything else I love ;)

smarteyeball:

Just curious, where do you keep this case at? LEDs on cases remind me of when I was a 15yr old and thought bright lights and PCBs through the plastic window made my computer so sick. (No offense)

I guess it's all taste, but I can't think of anywhere in my home I'd want some spaceship looking hunk of metal lighting up the room. Computers IMO should be small, unobtrusive, and silent. You shouldn't even know they are there. Unfortunately, there aren't too many high quality cases that look sleek, simple, and professional, with the exception of the Antec P182 and variants.
