Nice machines. Look pricey. Depending on what level of gaming you do, this may be a reasonable budget option. The Intel 4000 chip does a very good job.

Thank you very much for your suggestion. I looked over that machine and the price is very reasonable, but it does not have the ability to meet the level of gaming i will be asking of it.

Fair enough. I was not sure which level of gaming you plan.

I am looking for something to run modern games as low as medium settings. I am unsure i will find such a thing below 1,000. I would rather purchase a desktop, but since i foresee much traveling in the next two years i need a laptop.

The specs on the machines themselves look good. The parts being used are pretty good quality. So, yes, it will do for what you want. Actually, it's a little better than what you suggest in the post above. Both laptops linked above should run most modern games at high settings easily. You might not max out Max Payne 3 or Battlefield 4, but both laptops are more than good enough to run the majority of new PC games at high settings at the least.

The only question would be the competence of the company building it. If only there was a way to use a vast series of interconnected hubs to find information about a company and its products and opinions and ratings from many of its customers quickly and easily...

Let me google that for you
