Media slash gaming PC configuration advice.

Hiya.

These are components that have been laying on some shelves collecting dust and whatnot and I'm thinking that I could get this all sold in a so called Multimedia PC Pack.

Though what I would appreciate if hardware savvy people would tell me if I can go beyond the setup I already have? Or would I risk going on the minus side by buying more hardware?

PC Hardware:

Gigabyte F2A85X-UP4 - Motherboard
AMD A4-5300 + NZXT cooler - CPU
Cooler Master Elite 310 Mid Tower Black - Case
12GB - Ram
3 HDD + 1 SSD
Palit Radeon HD 4870 Sonic - Graphics Card(Update?)

Outside the box:

LG Flatron M2780D
Sony SRS-D8
Logitech G110
Buy a gaming mouse?

Sometimes I wonder that because I'm from Finland I get less responses because people have gotten a bad experience or seen the bad Finnish drunk man standing at the street corner screaming his lungs out saying bad things and think that well if he is like that the chances of BTA being the same aren't that slim.

Though maybe there is another reason, I really do hope that but one cannot not think about it.

The AMD A4 CPU you chose has pretty bad reviews. You may want to look for alternatives - e.g. Intel i5.

There's only a few people that use amd stuff so it's a little isolated in what to recommend or suggest :/

Best thing to do is post a budget and a link where you intend on buying the stuff so we can make real suggestions.

No sense in posting Newegg or any other u.s.a. site where you can't get it anyway

Unfortunately Finns do have this bad alcoholic issue.

I don't think that is the case but honestly if you want media slash gaming the A4 CPU you picked is a real dog you are better off going with AMD zen atleast you will be able to play a decent title

And I mean I could be cheeky and buy a through a second hand store so that me myself wouldn't go that much on minus.

A 8350 is a waste to be honest you can get a 8320 that will do just as good a job

i have used both and see a very small difference in them when ramped up to 4.8 Ghz or anything within 4.2 through 4.5 Ghz where most people OC to

GPU upgrade will surely boost performance but the problem with AMD as a whole is they are using some old tech like PCI-E 2.0 Instead of 3.0 but that doesn't matter if your going to be using a gtx 970 or above you will not even notice

I would add more ram if your doing media it will only help move things along

Well I just saw this bundle on a computer store site here Finland, it would be a Z97-A + 8GB Ram + GTX 960 for 350 euros, though there would still be left out the CPU, but would this be a better bet than going with the CPU and GPU option?

1st, sell the parts you have listed.

Then decide if you want to keep the Sabertooth Z77 and upgrade it ( not really to much more you can do with it) other then adding more RAM, sorry couldn`t help it

Getting a 3770K would be a waste of money.

The Sabertooth Z77 is a fine board, I only sold mine after I got the Z87.

You could consider going with a new Z170 motherboard and a CPU to go with it, along with some DDR4

The choice is yours of course

You already have a 970, I would not go with that deal, getting a 960 would be Futile

And you still need a CPU (4790K) wink nod

Find a deal with a MB, CPU and Ram, at least 16 GB

Yeah AddRAM, this is exactly what I'm trying to do, build a system that I could sell with the monitor, sound system and peripherals that are collecting dust on my shelves.

I'm not talking about upgrading my own big rig setup. That's in the future.

This setup that I have listed here is a computer I used when I was mining crypto-currency but now I'm not pursuing that dream because the whole mining business has become too mainstream and you need to have a farm to make some cash.

It would be the Asus Strix 4gb OC model.

But I have to think about it a bit, money doesn't grow on trees for me :/
