Hello :)

well, i first encountered this problem today when I instaled windows 7 pro32 bit on my Forcebook Diablo...

at first I thought, ok, the display looks odd, the resolution is very small, almost no color, only the primary colors are displayed, and ok, i can figure this out, ill just download the latest drivers from nVidia site and the problem will be solved.

but no :)

i figured, windows 7 will find graphic or video drivers on their own, but no luck, so i installed the drivers from nVidia site. I restared my laptop, but nothing changed. i went to device manager, and windows recognised my geforce 8600m gt, but nevertheless, it doesnt work... and i can't figure out why. before i installed that driver, it recognised the GPU as standard VGA graphics adapter

I did some research and found out that my Forcebook Diablo is a costume made laptop or something like that, and that windows 7 can't find the necessary drivers for the GPU... something like that, im not quite sure. i heard that Dell and Toshiba laptops with simillar GPU-s had simillar problems

so, is there a way I could download or maybe modify the driver or something

pls guys, im quite desperate here :)

thx for your help

oh yeah, almost forgot... when i install the nVidia drivers from their site and reboot my system, windows run ''windows asassement'' or something like that in command prompt, and i cant really figure out whats going on because it runs really fast, but i cought something like ''no LDDM'' or something like that, and some other negative stuff...

hope that helps a bit :)

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Were you trying to upgrade an OEM version of your NVIDIA drivers?

I ask the question because OEM versions are configured differently to retail versions so upgrading from NVIDIA's site could cause a driver conflict, even more so if you didn't uninstall the old driver first.

You might do better to update your graphics drivers via your computer manufacturer's download page.

i tried that... the problem is that the manufacturer site no longer exists. its a rare laptop, cant find anything on google, it was manufactured in Croatia, by a local company HGSPOT. but ironicaly, they went bankrupt :)

I thought maybe to give mobility modder a shot...

any other ideas?

nothing worked... i returned to XP, it seems that my hardware is a bit out of date :)

i found the default drivers on the intel page for my laptop, but what bothers me now is that i cant install the latest XP driver for my GPU, and i am 100% sure that i could do that before. when i install the latest drivers, the graphic again crashes, small resolution and almost no color.

guess ill have to buy a normal laptop, and not chinese crap :(
