Solved get bootable iso from install disk

Hi

I have a legal, shop bought windows 7 ultimate install disk and am worried that it could get scratched etc, seeing as i have a long and frightful history with CDs and DVDs.

Is there a way that i could copy the contents of the DVD install disk to my harddrive as an iso? Preferably bootable, as well?

Use ImgBurn to Create .ISO Image File from Disk: store, mount, burn or write to USB flash stick.

For testing 7 as well as seeing the creation of a working installation stick by way of a usb flash drive follow the guide there. The shareware version of UltraISO will extract the contents from any Windows disk and create a bootable install key.

It's been used here numerous times not just for 7 only.
