Hello Mahesh,

Run these tools to fix system files:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html

Then click on the "optimize windows 7" link in my signature below V to find ways to safely speed up your computer. After that, let me know if you still get the computer hang.

Are you overclocking or changing BIOS settings? You might set it back to standard defaults to see if there is any imporvement in performance, if you are overclocking..

hi dusty!

I did a sfc/scannow and it did not show any integrity violations. My system does not hang but after i login the system goes blank for about 30 seconds and then i get the task bar and then the desktop.I have updated to latest video drivers.could it be a dispaly driver or do i have to change the resolution,my resolution now is 1366*768.
Secondly if i do i system repair will all my service pack ,installed programs and the updates be erased?
No i am not overclocking or changed any BIOS settings.

No, you can do a system repair no prob. do it 3 times.

But if you do a repair install, then you will lose some of your settings.

try uninstalling the graphics card, then install it again and select 'custom install' and 'clean install', if those options are available to you.

You can temporarily try to lower the resolution to see if it helps, but I don't think it will.

Make sure you have all windows updates installed and all your other programs are up to date as well. Next, look up your startup folder and delete everything you don't want in there.

If all of this fails, we will attempt our hand at 'msconfig'.

Did you have any updates recently the might account for this? Did you install anything recently? I'd go the msconfig, too. But first download, install and run malwarebytes.
