Solved Getting BSOD error 124, mostly while gaming

Hello there,

I'm getting BSOD 0x00000124 errors while gaming.

I updated my drivers and tried a mem test and chkdsk without any results.

I'm guessing it may be a video card problem since it seems to happen more often during graphically intense games, (wildstar) then any other time.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint. Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress. Hello there and thank you.

I've tried mostly everything in the list except for re-installing windows.
However I believe I have found and possibly corrected the issue.
I noticed in the event log that all of the errors were showing as an issue with core #4.
I disabled it from BIOS and haven't had any trouble so far. Is there any issue with disabling just one core?
