Getting "must be administrator" messages under admin account.

I have only one user account on my laptop (Windows 7) and naturally it is an administrator account.
But when trying to install new software, more often than not, I get a message saying I need to be logged in under an administrator account to continue. Not always but far too often.
For example, today I was simply trying to run my printer setup which I have done at least twice before and it tells me I need to be logged in as an admin.
I have logged out and back in and rebooted repeatedly to no avail.

UAC - try disabling it then do what you need to do: Turn User Account Control on or off

Turn back on when done if you want.

You could also try running the program as an Administrator
