I downloaded this Gmailnotifier plus and now I cannot uninstall it. It is not in the programs list. I looked it up on Google and found nothing. Only shady sites with download programs that actually did not work. Damn, I wish I had found out how difficult it was to get rid of and I would not have downloaded it. Please, if anyone knows how to do it, tell me, and send a link. Thanks so very much.

I am downloading the revo. I am totally freaked out of restore. I did it on my other computer and it went totally black. I have been spending 3 days trying to recoup it.. I have no clue what happened. I suspect something got corrupted. Oh well, fortunately I have another computer. Thanks for answering.. and you wouldn't be an expert with testdisk by any chance eh? It is a bit daunting for me. Be well. thanks

Hi, I fixed it... I had to force delete it since it did not show in any list. I hope that in deleting all the related files I don't have a problem. My God it was stubborn... I would classify it as malaware. I can't believe that no one has had a similar problem. I found no help online. Thank you for your advice, and if you have any information about my other problem, please do write. Thanks

what antivirus do you use? suggest a full scan with Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer and Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows to be sure you are free of any worm. also do a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html this fixed corrupted files and requires a restart once completed.

regarding test disk, you're right i got no information on that, i'm googling it :) but will ask another member to look into it.

Hi,
I could not use anything because it was not booting under any circumstance. I used Ubuntu. I scanned with it and it was not a virus. File corruption I am afraid. Thanks for inquiring.

No, but all I could access was the bios. No advanced commands either. Just nothing at all worked. Ubuntu can load, so I was trying to use testdisk to find problems.. I just don't know how to interpret the findings. The explanation for the program are a bit over my head (partitions, primary, legal etc.). How would I use what you suggested if I cannot access DOS? thanks

oops. Never meant to offend anyone. I was unclear, my fault. The problem I was talking about happened to another laptop, not the one with the deleted program (by the way I did use the program she suggested, Revo Uninstaller, but I had to force deleted it with that program because it could not locate the program anywhere). The other laptop turned black and unresponsive after doing system restore (possibly something went wrong and it got interrupted, battery ran out of juice.. not sure). Nothing worked except for ubuntu. I do need help with this issue.
Now back to the original issue, I think everything is ok. I got no problem after shutting down, so I assume the program got deleted ok. Sorry if anyone got upset. Probably I should post the other problem with a new thread and mark this one solved. What do you think? Thanks very much.

Run SFC -SCANNOW Command on both machines now to make sure System Files are not causing problems with System Restore on the one machine, and that the forced Uninstall did not damage System files on the other.

That should be enough if there are no unfixable System Files or any further performance problems.

Hello,
I ran the program on the one machine where I force uninstalled the gmail notifier plus and it found no errors. The other machine does not boot, it can only go to bios and without any advanced functions. It does boot in ubuntu. How do I find the elevated command there? thanks very much

Hi,
I ran the malaware tool and found nothing. I tried the windows repair disc and at every step it said it was successful. I but wanted to run the SFC SCANNOW. but the repair disc only has the regular command window. I tried and it said I needed to restart to finish the repair, but when I restarted it said the same again and again. I also tried the system restore, but it hung forever. How do you get an elevated command window in the repair disc? I don't have access to the start button, my computer will not boot without a disc. Thanks for your help

This entire thread is just... wow. I know it's a zombie but I couldn't help responding. I don't think I've laughed so hard in a long time. Why was it that no one bothered to check out the program dalibella was talking about? This is a simple case of a very remedial user not knowing what they're doing.

Gmail Notifier Plus doesn't have an installer, so there isn't an uninstaller to run. Nor would it show up in the Programs and Features installed programs list in the Control Panel.

When you launch an EXE, the process must be ended before you can delete it. You end the Gmail Notifier Plus process, then delete the files. Done.

I cannot believe that dalibella was seriously suggesting this app was malware. LOL. Talk about an uneducated conclusion, not to mention the thing is open source. I'm shocked no one tagged the user for spreading FUD without any evidence.

Well, obviously much more knowledgeable people than me did not have the answer. No one is spreading anything.. simply asking questions. I find your remarks rude to say the least. Maybe you should remember when you knew nothing about this subject either.. we all start from that point. So, get off your high horse and learn something... humility. Good day

Hi again dalibella:

Just ignore the ankle-biter. The mods will flush him if he keeps it up.

I'm sorry the thread got dropped. For some reason I missed your last post.

Did you ever get your unbootable Win7 working? Would you like to reinstall it now?

Hi,
well some people have short memories and they are miserable no matter what. Actually I fixed all the computers. I used Ubuntu and their repair discs. It took me a while and I learned lots of stuff... but it does fade into a nebulous past rather quickly. It all works fine and I am trying to read carefully before I download anything. Thanks again for your help. It is reassuring to know that so many people are more willing to help than judge. Have a great summer. ciao

So glad to hear it. Let us know if you ever have any other issues or need any help or advice.

You can mark the thread Solved at top.

Ciao bella!

I successfully removed gmail notifier!!!

I followed all instructions from this thread & got NO WHERE. I absolutely could not find the file on my computer........BUT, I did have the icon in the upper right tool bar. I discovered there were two files that had been zipped into one folder together. I found the zipped file in my downloads. I unzipped both folders & then deleted both folders. Now the gmail notifier is totally & thankfully GONE GONE GONE!!!! Hooray.
