It's censorship of a sort, but in my opinion guns are far too readily available and our lax laws are responsible for much of the gun-running over the Mexican border which has resulted in the deaths of thousands.
Is this the way to solve the problem? No, the laws desperately need changing, but that won't happen because there is too much money to be made, and money rules all in this culture.

Didn't even know Google had 'Google Shopping'

If you're going gun shopping online, it might halt a few of those with questionable intelligence who can't work out alternative means to find a store (which is a good thing in itself ;) ) - but overall it's more of a token move than anything. It's hardly going to have a huge impact.

Topic aside, I'm not a fan of the censorship angle.

I have to agree with you here. Firearms are available online from private dealers all over the United States, if the state being shipped to is cash and carry (no waiting period). They ship directly to the buyer and do not go through the proper channels(dealer with a FFL). Dealers usually charge $75-100 to "process" an incoming firearm, which is what the private sellers are trying to avoid.

Exercisizing that 2nd amendment shouldn't be rendered difficult or complicated. You have the right to bear arms as an American.
